TruScan Raman Handheld Spectrometer - Portable cGMP

Manufactured by Thermo Scientific's 'Portable Optical Analysis' Division (formerly Ahura Scientific), TruScan is a rugged, handheld Raman system for rapid raw material verification/ identification & anti-counterfeiting.
Non-destructive point-and-shoot sampling through sealed packaging delivers results in just seconds. Further, TruScan reduces the need for quarantine areas and staging of raw materials and minimizes risk of exposure and contamination.

What is Raman Spectroscopy?
Raman spectroscopy is an analytical technique that uses the the interaction of light and molecular bonds to characterize individual chemicals. Different types of bonds are identified as peaks of varying intensity in a resulting spectrum, creating a unique fingerprint for each compound. The spectrum of an unknown or suspect compound can be compared to that of a known sample in order to confirm authenticity.
Until recently, Raman spectrometers were large, bulky instruments requiring a great deal of advanced education and training to operate and interpret results. New handheld spectrometers like TruScan are bringing the power of Raman directly to the field.
